Deaconess Parish Nurse Ministry Network (retired)

The Deaconess Parish Nurse Ministry is located in St. Louis and is a legacy of the Deaconess Health System. Initiated in 1989, the program has 21 years of experience working with faith communities in the St. Louis area to improve the health of individuals and families. Currently there are 27 registered nurses specially trained to provide wellness programs, spiritual support, health advocacy, health care guidance, and personal assistance in a variety of health crises. This experience is willingly shared with any community that is interested in wholistic health.

The core value of the program is that through a strong belief in God’s justice and compassion, the Deaconess Parish Nurse Ministries will seek to foster physical, mental, social and spiritual wholeness within and through faith communities locally, and around the globe:

  • By seeking justice;
  • By acting with compassion;
  • By nurturing wholeness in all its dimensions.
